Hello, I am new to Substack, so forgive me if I am unaware of the proper ediquette. I am intrigued by your dilemma of reaching out to agents. Please do not chew your hand off.

I face a similar challenge. I feel ashamed when I say, I would love to get my writing out there and get paid.

I want to be funny, or at least I think I am funny, but wonder if anyone else thinks the same?

Anywho, I have decided to follow you and track your journey. Again hoping to learn.

So good luck from Canada.

The static sheets thing reminds me of PG Wodehouse’s writing process. He’d stick every page up around his study. They’d start down by the skirting board, and would work their way up towards eye level as he improved them. Presumably he did this one section at a time otherwise that’s one big study.

when you have done the research-y bit regard agents it is time to harass... i mean approach them... might I suggest you storyboard the super compelling reason they would want to represent you (ie either a king's ransom of awards or cash.... wait you have plans to kidnap the King?) and then.... always being sensitive to cliff hangers .... break it up into 10-20-30 postcards... post daily for X # days. PS. Comedy pitch.... young woman comic goes to her first AA meeting only to discover it is full of comedians... each episode starts with a tale being told, fade to action as narrator continues to set up... and ends with comedian/narrator ending their "share" with a used it in a bit.... cross fade to standup routine .... you can deal with all kinds of poor behaviour addictions wise and mental health too! how exciting would THAT be !?
